Eelo Foundation (US Non-Profit Organization) decided to establish the first American University in Horn of Africa Region. This institution of higher learning promotes American values and beliefs through mandatory courses in American History, American Government and American Economy; combined with high standards to provide a top quality education to Muslim communities in the Horn of Africa Region.  The Founders strongly believe that through educating the youth and providing them alternatives information on America and its people will build a bridge of understanding between the Muslim communities in Horn of Africa and the American Society. The Eelo American University (EAU) will play an important role in building this bridge by offering job training to unemployed youth and providing educational opportunities to women in order to contribute to peace and economic development. We will contribute to re-building of Horn of Africa (both public and private sector), to formulate the educational and legal systems, insure respect for human rights and counter the efforts of extremist groups and strength a mutual understanding among the peoples of America and Horn of Africa.

The Founders to date have contributed 100% of funds to establish this university, as they have done for the past ten years on other community projected implemented in Horn of Africa.
